As part of the Apprenticeship Framework, we are now offering NVQ Apprenticeship Diplomas across the business suite of qualifications. We have now been running our National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) programme for a couple of years; which is open to all employees across the business, based at Cambridge, Brize Norton and Kirkbymoorside, and this is now offered internally to Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group employees.

We are therefore very pleased to announce that all Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group employees are once again invited to apply to study one of the following subjects under this scheme (a Fact Sheet for each subject level is available).

Available NVQ Courses

  • Team Leading Level 2
  • Management Level 3
  • Management Level 5
  • Business Administration Level 2
  • Business Administration Level 3
  • Customer Service Level 2
  • Customer Service Level 3
  • Warehousing and Storage Level 3
  • IT User Level 2
  • IT User Level 3

These qualifications are comprised of the following elements

  • NVQ, or National Vocational Qualification, is a nationally recognised qualification, which is available at various achievement levels. It is designed in order to provide each learner with the chance to show what they can do at work and the skills they have developed in order to carry out their role.
  • Technical Certificate – The Technical Certificate is a key component of the Apprenticeship programme and is designed in order to provide a clear understanding of the world of work. Important issues are covered including, for example, the various types of organisations and their structures, rights and responsibilities, data protection and human resources.
  • Functional Skills – Functional Skills are practical skills in English, Maths and ICT.

As of September 2015, the NVQ Apprenticeship programme is now run internally, with no cost incurred to the employee. Dependant on the course, departments will be required to pay the registration and certification costs

Once the learner decides on which NVQ they want to study, they need to complete an Expression of Interest form (EOI) BMS0580-F01 and send it back either electronically or via internal mail. You should also discuss this with your line manager, as work based qualifications should be relevant to your job role or development needs.

Important Note

Certain levels of previous qualifications may affect your eligibility to take part in the NVQ programme, so if you have any questions regarding this please get in contact with Rebecca Tarbox on 01223 399531 to discuss.
