CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme

Objectives

This course is designed for Site Managers, agents and persons who are, or about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff in the workforce. It will help site managers, agents and supervisors to manage health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions, and within the context of their management or supervisory role. From January 2018, new element relating to mental health and environmental awareness will be included.

Content

The course covers:

  • All relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working within the building, construction and civil engineering industries
  • Highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace
  • Implementing necessary control measures
  • Successful communication to sustain a health and safety culture amongst the workforce

At the end of the course the delegates will be able to:

  • Implement all health, safety and environmental legislation affecting your daily work
  • Implement new guidance and industry best practice
  • State your duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and the environment

Delegates will be required to complete 3 core exercises, a case study and an end of course examination. Revised exam papers include 5 safety critical questions which will need to be answered correctly by delegates to pass the exam. Papers are now 20 multiple choice and 5 written questions. These are short one word/list answer type questions.

On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a CITB Certificate that is valid for 5 years.
